The owner of this Vestal, NY home wanted to upgrade their insulation.

In the attic there was 3 inches of fiberglass already in place.  After air sealing, we did an open blow of 12 inches of cellulose insulation on top of the existing fiberglass.  The result is a fully insulated attic and much more comfortable rooms below.

We removed the old fiberglass and sprayed 3 inches of closed cell foam to the rim joist.  Small things make a difference and this will make a sizable difference in the comfort of the rooms above.

We started by removing the old insulation.  The attic was air sealed, then 14 inches of cellulose insulation was blown in.  The attic is much better insulated and the home is both more comfortable and energy efficient as a result.
