Insulation Services Photo Album: Roof deck spray foam in Port Crane, NY
Frank and his crew—Kevin and Lityk—took on this massive four-day attic transformation designed to dramatically improve the home’s energy efficiency and safety.
The project began with thorough preparation: the team carefully removed the 832 square feet of existing fiberglass insulation around the attic perimeter to create a clean, debris-free surface ready for spray foam application.
As part of their safety protocol, they also installed an insulated chimney wrap to create a protective barrier between the new insulation and the chimney, reducing fire risk.
Once the attic was fully prepped, Frank installed an impressive 2,340 square feet of 3-inch closed-cell spray foam to the roof deck and gable ends. This high-performance insulation not only provides superior thermal resistance but also air seals and acts as a moisture barrier. Following closely behind, Kevin and Lityk applied a fire-resistant coating over the spray foam. Since the attic space will remain unfinished and not be covered with sheetrock, this protective layer is essential for enhancing fire safety!
The result: a safer, stronger, and significantly more energy-efficient attic space built to perform for years to come!
