Spray Foam Insulation in Endwell, NY
Challenge
This home in Endwell, NY featured a home theater that the homeowners were working towards converting into a bedroom. The ceiling of said room was drop tile ceiling which presented the Foam It team with an unusual problem to insulate. Due to the strength of the material, we could not insulate using Trusoft cellulose insulation because of the risk that the ceiling could collapse due to the weight of the insulation.
Solution
Foam It's solution to insulating this space was to instead to apply our closed cell spray foam to the roof deck. At 3" this provides the ultimate R-value needed for the space. However, to get to the roof deck, we had to remove each individual piece of ceiling allowing for access into the area we needed to insulate. When removing the drop tile we also had to make sure each and every piece was labeled, so we knew where each piece went when assembling.
