After the old insulation was removed and the attic was air sealed, 14 inches of cellulose insulation was blown in.  This will improve the comfort of the home and reduce energy usage.

This home in Apalachin, NY had attic insulation.  It was cellulose blown in over poorly placed fiberglass and it was doing very little good. 

We cleared out the old insulation.  Then the attic was air sealed and 14 inches of new cellulose insulation was blown in.  This will make a noticeable improvement in the comfort of the home as well as improving energy efficiency.

3 inches of closed cell foam was sprayed on the rim joist and 2 inches on the foundation wall.  In the first photo you can see that the rim joist has already been sprayed.  The work done here will reduce drafts and make the home more comfortable overall.

After air sealing, 14 inches of cellulose insulation was blown in.  As a result, the home will now be more comfortable and energy efficient.

The existing insulation was raked aside then air sealing was done.  The existing insulation was then returned and 12 inches of new cellulose insulation was then blown in.  The attic is now fully insulated which will improve the comfort of the home and increase energy efficiency.
